Paving history: Unpaved at designation, it had a bituminous surface at decommissioning and remains that way today. However, some maps (Rand McNally, for instance) incorrectly showed it as a four-lane extension of I-680. With IA 362's decommissioning, there are no longer any unpaved state highways.
Replaced by: County Road G12.

Iowa 363
Designated: February 1, 1939 (number approved December 6, 1938) Decommissioned: July 1, 2003
Original western terminus: IA 11, later IA 150, in northeast Benton County
Original eastern terminus: Urbana
Paving history: Unpaved at designation, the road was paved in 1955.
Major alignment change: In 1984 it was converted from a spur into Urbana to a connecting road between IA 150 and the newly-completed I-380; the old segment that ended in town was unsigned IA 919 until 1995.
Replaced by: Local road. IA 363 replaced IA 92 (I); although it was absent from state transportation maps after 1991, it was probably due to the lack of space on the map as the road was fully signed until its decommissioning.

This was the designation for two former half-mile segments of IA 5 that were bypassed by a parallel four-lane road to the north that opened on December 13, 2002. One segment ran along the north city limits of Hartford between a point west of Vine Street and 215th Street; the other was a dead-end segment northwest of Pleasantville. After the Pleasantville bypass opened, the designation was also given to the rest of the bypassed IA 5. On July 13, 2004, the Transportation Commission approved the transfer of Hartford's portion of IA 368 to the city. The Pleasantville segment was transferred to local jurisdictions by the end of 2004, but the DOT's 2007 Warren County map still shows one piece of IA 368 near Hartford, meaning that the transfer to Warren County may not have been completed yet.
